Automatic Flanged Blowdown System
The Automatic Flanged Bottom Blowdown System allows for the controlled discharge of sludge, sediment, and impurities that accumulate at the bottom of boilers. These systems operate with automated control infrastructure to enhance process safety and maintain boiler efficiency. Unox, with the technologies developed in this field, offers both ease of use and long lifespan. However, without the correct actuator and valve combination, the system will not operate efficiently. Unox strengthens system stability with its Electric Actuated Flanged Ball Valve.

ToggleWorking Principle of a Pneumatic Actuated Valve
Pneumatic actuated valves direct the flow using a rotary element powered by compressed air. This mechanism enables the automatic opening and closing of a 2-way ball valve with high precision. A similar control logic is applied with the Unox Electric Actuated 3-Way Ball Valve. However, the actuator must be selected based on the required torque values for the specific operating conditions. Additionally, the speed at which the system opens and closes directly affects energy efficiency.
Considerations for Actuator Selection
Each pneumatic actuator operates within a specific torque range. For example, the UDA 040 model provides 9 Nm of torque, while the UDA 125 model generates 400 Nm of force. However, torque alone is not sufficient. Ambient pressure, valve size, and control type must be considered together. System integration is carried out using models like the Unox Multi-Turn Proportional Electric Actuated Valve. Additionally, the control type is selected as either On-Off or proportional.
Mechanical Structure and Corrosion Resistance
The system body is produced using the aluminum extrusion technique, and both the internal and external surfaces are resistant to corrosion. Thanks to the compact pistons and the specially alloyed pinion structure, assembly and maintenance processes are made easier. With the Unox Electric Actuated U-PVC Ball Valve, chemical resistance is also enhanced. Furthermore, the system is fully compatible with DIN 3337 and VDI/VDE 3845 NAMUR standards. This feature also facilitates the replacement of spare parts.
Assembly Flexibility and Compliance with Standards
The system, designed in compliance with the ISO 5211 standard, supports mounting angles between 45° and 90°. This flexibility allows for easy integration into various processes. Additionally, solenoid valves, limit switches, and other accessories can be quickly mounted. Technical drawings and product combinations can be reviewed through Unox Online. Compatible solutions can be created with the Unox Electric Actuated 2-Piece Threaded Ball Valve, ensuring both efficiency and sustainability within the system.
