What is Dry Type Deluge Valve?

Dry type deluge valve is a kind of fire protection system used to release large amount of water or other extinguishing agent in fire. Raid systems are designed to be activated by a fire alarm or other detection system and are typically used in areas where there is a high risk of fire or where quick response is critical to prevent the spread of fire.

It is generally used in conjunction with a raid sprinkler system, which is a network of pipes and sprinkler heads installed in a building or other structure. When the deluge valve is activated, it opens a series of valves that allow water or another extinguishing agent to flow out of the pipes and sprinkler heads, creating a “flood” of water or other substance that can help put out the fire.

How Does a Dry Type Deluge Valve Work?

Dry type deluge valves are called “dry” because they do not contain water or any other substance in the closed position. This allows them to be installed in areas where humidity or freezing temperatures can cause problems, such as unheated buildings or outside. When the deluge valve is activated, it is typically connected to a water source or other source of extinguishing agent which is then released through the sprinkler system.

Dry type deluge valves; It is designed for use in dry piping systems where there is a risk of frost. It operates fully hydraulically using mains pressure. Thus, it does not need any other energy. The commissioning and maintenance process in the system is very easy. It can be mounted horizontally or vertically to the network.
